About
Newburyport-based band Hyperdrive was formed in 2021 with Cedar (15) on guitar, Bay (12) on vocals and bass, and Gabe (14) on drums, as a result of their common love of 70's, 80's, and 90's rock music. After a quick recording project, the trio quickly realized that they wanted to continue as a band. Since their first gig in May 2022, Hyperdrive has performed at city events, pep rallies, block parties, recitals, and local sporting events, garnering recognition from the MMEA and other musical foundations.
High School Musical? Not Quite...
Although our members are only in high school, Hyperdrive has enough experience to handle even the most involved gigs with professionalism and efficiency. Having performed outdoors, indoors, and everywhere in between, we know how to put on a show in any situation. We've spent hours perfecting every aspect of our performances, allowing for quick, easy installation/removal of gear as well as a great show!
No PA? No problem!
Hyperdrive owns and operates all our own PA/lighting gear! this allows us to create shows from the ground up, with nothing required from the venue except a pair of outlets! By providing lighting and sound, Hyperdrive can comfortably put on shows outside, and at night. Plus, we always bring our own sound engineer, allowing our shows to sound consistently great, no matter the venue!
Sonic Diversity
Hyperdrive also can perform acoustic sets as well as 'electric' ones! These are well suited for coffee shops or background music, and are ideal for situations where setup time and physical stage space are very limited.
